Learning Support

Westside’s Exceptional Learning Centre assists students with demonstrated learning and emotional needs. This support is offered in a variety of ways depending on the student’s level of need. Students may be referred for learning support at enrolment or parents are welcome to contact the ELC Co-ordinator Mrs Katrina Brown or the Director of Learning Miss June A Balfour for further information.

Special Education Element

Westside operates its SEE for students who are verified with significant learning needs. Places in SEE are limited. Entry to the SEE is at the discretion of the College and further information can be obtained from the ELC Co-ordinator Mrs Katrina Brown or the Director of Learning, Miss June A Balfour.

Learning Extension

Westside provides opportunities for students to be enriched and extended through a variety of activities and competitions. Teachers also extend students in regular classrooms. Senior Students have an opportunity to study university subjects concurrently with their Year 12 studies through UQ, QUT or USQ.
