Westside’s annual secondary touch football camp took place between 17th-18th February. 70 students participated, supported by College coaching staff.
All school representative players were invited to attend. Co-ordinated by Lynda Williams, the intensive camp prepares players for the upcoming Christian Schools one-day carnival and the ICS touch football competition.
Speaking on the outcomes of the camp, former Matilda, coach Lana Harch explains: “This was a great opportunity for each of the teams to develop bonds and refine the quality of their plays and teamwork in an authentic performance environment.”
Coach, Mr Graham Martin commented “year-on-year we see students move from being individuals to being a team. They get what it means to play as a team and as a Westsider.“
The camp focussed heavily on team and skill building, with Year 12 student, Connor, commenting “In five years of playing touch football, I don’t think anything prepared me for competition like this camp. A great learning experience.’
Westside Christian College wishes its players, coaches and families a successful touch football season.
